The theme was "The Archaic Imagination" --an exploration of "the many symbols, archetypes, feelings, and manifestations of ancient myth, folklore, and fairy tale," the stories and tales people have used through the ages to explain the world, and expressing "those elements of ancient creativity that resonate most with us."
InterFuse seeks to unite the scattered Burners and pre-Burners of the Midwest in a celebration of Art, Fire, and Life, spreading the unique Burning Man Experience through the region. Like at Burning Man each year, Interfuse builds a temporary city-community of tents, domes, light, dance, fire and music in the wilderness (in this case the forest, not the desert). It celebrates the diversity of humanity from Friday until Sunday morning. Then, the city is dismantled, leaving no trace.
