---Interfuse 2008---

Interfuse 2008 was held the weekend of May 1 - 4 at Ozark Avalon near Boonville, Missouri. The theme for the event was "Technophilia/Technophobia" --the love and/or fear of technology. There were 30 theme camps, and organizers sold 770 tickets for the event, but some people were spooked by the weather. The first night of Interfuse, a huge storm swept across Missouri, causing damage in the Kansas City area before moving on towards the Interfuse campsite. Many tents and shade structures were blown down in the wind. The days turned out sunny, but the nights were bitterly cold, and persistant winds battered the campers. Nevertheless, the event was packed with music, dancing and fun activities.

At the center of the campsite was the Effigy-- a giant television set, the symbol of Mankind's love and fear of technology. The Effigy served as a stage for performances during the event. On Saturday night, it vanished into flames.
